Sanctuary in New York Doubles As a 'Vegan Inn' Where Guests Can Mingle with Animals

If you're an animal lover and a vegan to boot, it can be hard to travel to places that align with your values. But now there is a special inn in Woodstock, New York that totally hits the mark. The Gray Barn is both an animal sanctuary and an inn where guests can stay on vacation. Another huge win? It's completely vegan too.

While some people might question building an inn on an animal sanctuary, to the people at the Gray Barn it makes total sense.

Much easier than traveling on a plane with your pet or trying to board your dogs while you're away, going to an animal sanctuary is an animal lover's dream vacation.

As explained in a video the inn published online, their property really does combine the best of both worlds.

The inn itself is stunning, each room is pretty than the next. But it gets even better when you realize that the proceeds will help "support the 400 animals who live here," the video's text overlay states. Now who could argue with helping animals in need?

The footage shows just a sliver of the animals who live at the Gary Barn, including cows, goats, bunnies, pigs, ducks, and the sweetest little lambs. But there are so many more waiting to be discovered.

The inn will help "to pave the way for new rescues who need sanctuary" too.

"That means your stay provides daily meals, medication for our elderly residents, health checkups, extra warmth during the winter months, and so much more," the video's caption states.

More Info About The Gray Barn

Beautiful amenities? Lots of cute animals? Do good? Sounds absolutely perfect. This place really is better than we could dream of. Located 90 minutes outside of New York City, each room at the Gray Barn is designed with an ensuite bathroom and private terrace, which overlooks Shawangunk Ridge. Every morning guests are treated to a fully vegan breakfast before they are allowed to explore the sanctuary's 150 acres on a tour.

There are five bedrooms total. Each and every one named after a rescued "resident" of the sanctuary (aka, one of the animals). You can also become a member of the sanctuary, which will grant you a discount on your stay. Proceeds will go towards rescuing animals, advocacy work, and humane education.

People in the comments section were totally sold. "Absolutely LOVE when people use a business model to help fund projects like this. It looks so good!!" one person gushed. "Can I come work here?" another person joked. "Stop this is my dream," a third commenter added.

It's pretty much our dream too. BRB, gotta go book a trip.
