The San Angelo Junior League organized a Community Advisor Council Luncheon

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Junior League organized a Community Advisory Council Luncheon on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Children’s Advocacy Center. They spoke about the League’s annual events such as their Western Dance, which is a fundraiser for the Junior League’s projects.

“We are a league of about 130 women actively involved, that volunteer numerous hours and their time and energy and skills and talent throughout the year to accomplish these projects,” says Junior League President Amanda Ritchie. She tells us that “it’s just so neat to be in an organization, to be at a table surrounded by women of different backgrounds. You’re sitting next to a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a homeschool mom, and just to have all these women come together to serve the community is something really neat.”

Event organizers also say that they are appreciative of the increase in attendance over the past year, and they would also like to remind the community of the annual Junior League “Touch a Truck” event that takes place Saturday, April 27th at the Foster Communications Coliseum. The event is free, open to the public, and gives children a chance to see various types of vehicles from police cars to fire trucks.
