Ryanair passengers reportedly kept on plane for 6 hours with no food or water in 14-degree weather

Passengers aboard a recent Ryanair flight from Prague, the Czech Republic, to Madrid claim they were left stranded on their plane for more than six hours without food, water or information.

Flight FR2767 to Madrid stayed grounded on the tarmac at Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague on Sunday while 189 mainly Spanish passengers say they were forced to withstand temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit. As the passengers experienced repeated delays, they claimed there was no food or water offered to them.

According to one customer, some passengers experienced anxiety attacks on the plane, and parents struggled with their children. Eventually, the passengers, on a flight that typically lasts approximately three hours, were permitted to disembark from the plane. After walking through the snow and winds, they spent the night at the airport.

The next day, passengers were told they would depart by 10 a.m., but were delayed further as the aircraft was de-iced.

After a 26-hour delay, passengers on board the flight finally arrived in Madrid.

Ryanair released the following statement on Twitter: “Snow at Prague airport and slow de-icing services have caused delays. One of our flights has been canceled as the crew went out of hours. All customers have been provided with hotel accommodation and the flight will operate tomorrow. We apologize to impacted customers and we are working hard to operate all flights as normal.” Ryanair did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.

A spokesperson for the airline told The Sun, “Snow at Prague airport and slow airport de-icing services caused a number of delays on Sunday [Feb. 3] including this flight to Madrid. Crew opened the bars on-board and served refreshments, but the flight was regrettably cancelled, as the crew went out of hours. All customers were provided with hotel accommodation and boarded a replacement flight, which departed to Madrid the following day. We sincerely apologised to all affected customers.”
