If you’re wondering what’s the “official hair color of 2019,” all you have to do is direct your attention to Iskra Lawrence. The model and L’Oréal Paris ambassador is now sporting silver locks — but this isn’t your granny’s muted shade of gray.
This silver boasts a brilliance that’s “chic, sexy, edgy and super on-trend,” according to L’Oréal Paris celeb stylist Jonathan Colombini. Not to mention, Lawrence has proven that silver hair is very versatile, taking this look from the beach to the bedroom and even the boulevard.
When choosing the right hair color for your skin tone, Colombini believes there is a very small margin of silver you can play with. To widen your options, the pro always advises keeping a darker natural root. “This will give the natural illusion of having the fashion tone, while keeping your natural root which compliments your skin tones. Any fashion color that is accompanied with a darker base and much lighter end gives a lived-in look,” he explains.
For clients that have fair to golden skin tones, he would choose a titanium silver tone, while individuals with olive to dark skin tones can go with a gunmetal silver shade. To maintain vibrancy, don’t forget to use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
