Roanoke celebrates 32nd annual Pride festival

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — People came from Danville, Lynchburg and more to celebrate Pride in the Star City on Sunday, April 28.

The annual Pride celebration held its final day at Elmwood Park in downtown Roanoke, hosting vendors, entertainment, and ceremonial crownings of Miss and Mr. Roanoke Pride.

“I think it’s amazing,” said one festivalgoer. “It makes me really happy to know there are more people like me in the community, especially in a smaller area.”

You can volunteer with or donate to Roanoke Pride “to promote acceptance, visibility, and a sense of community in the Southwestern Virginia LGBTQIA+ community.”
