Rio Rancho outdoor pools opening May 25

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Rio Rancho’s public outdoor pools are preparing to open on May 25. And the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center will begin extended summer hours on May 28.

The daily fee for outdoor pools is $4 for adults. Children ages 2 to 12 are $3 per day, and seniors 55 and older are $3 per day.

Albuquerque offers sponsorship for some park events

Rio Rancho’s outdoor pools, with hours, are:

  • Haynes Community Center Pool, 2006 Grande Blvd.

    • May 25 – Aug. 11 (recreation swim daily from noon to 6 p.m.)

    • Aug. 17 – Sept. 2 (recreation and lap swim Saturdays and Sundays only from noon to 6 p.m.)

    • Lap swimming available during open hours

  • Rainbow Pool, 301 Southern Blvd.

    • May 25 – Aug. 11 (recreation swim daily from noon to 6 p.m.)

    • Lap swimming available Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 6:00 p.m.

    • Water aerobics Monday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to noon

The aquatic center’s summer hours are:

  • Recreational Swim (all ages)

    • Wednesday – Thursday: noon to 5 p.m.

    • Friday: noon to 7 p.m.

    • Saturday and Sunday: noon to 6 p.m.

  • Lap Swim (adults only)

    • Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    • Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    • Saturday: noon to 6 p.m.

    • Number of available lanes varies throughout the day

    • Two lap lanes available between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday

  • The aquatic center is closed on certain holidays and is closed on some days for maintenance. Check this link for closures.
