Riders Take First Laps On New Red Bull Hardline Course

At long last the veil has been lifted on the brand new Red Bull Hardline: Tasmania course. The long awaited sister event to Wales's original Red Bull Hardline is set to get underway in a few weeks and, based on the few shots we've seen, it looks like it ought to live up to the hype.

Take a look at the first video to surface of the big jump section of the course.

In true Hardline fashion, there is some serious airtime on this course. It is cool to see that this course will be another solid fusion of downhill racing and big air freeride.

The original Hardline course in Wales was known for its raw gnar before anything else. The big air element was there but it was in more of a downhill-y way than bike parky way that this new course resembles.

The OG big air feature at the Wales Hardline was the road gap. The towering feature was the big "wow" factor for most fans. It is still a marquee installment on the track but these days it's the 100 foot booters that steal the big air show up there.

Whether the new track at Maydena will have that size of feature or not remains to be seen, but regardless it is still going to be rad to see a new iteration in the world of Free-racing.

Another cool thing about Hardline is that they have joined the ranks of many - but not all - other major freeride events to prioritize inviting women to the event. The Welsh Hardline had a handful of prominent racers and freeriders and it was a huge step in the right direction for women's freeride despite the finals of that event being canceled
due to weather.

One thing worth noting about that too is that the gals were hitting everything on the course, same as the guys. Just putting that out there.

This new iteration doubled down on the presence of women freeriders by expanding even further on their presence at the event.

Keep an eye out for coverage of the practices and highlights to start trickling out from the event next week.
