Who owns Sweet Desires Dessert Lounge?

Vero Beach native Brandy Buckner has worked in sales and marketing for a citrus company for 22 years. She and her husband own The Crab Stop Seafood Bar & Grill locations in Vero Beach and Sebastian. They opened their first location in 2014 in downtown Vero Beach, which they later moved to Royal Palm Pointe in 2019, and then opened a second location in 2018 on the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian.

Buckner opened Sweet Desires Espresso Bar & Bakery last year as a space to make the desserts for the lounge. She owns both businesses by herself. She uses New York-based FunTimes Coffee because it has dessert notes to use in tiramisu and espresso martinis.

“I wanted to bring something new to the area,” Buckner said. “I know that there is a need for some nighttime activity. I wanted to do something different, and I love desserts.”

What kind of restaurant is Sweet Desires Dessert Lounge?

It’s a chic lounge to end the evening with dates or friends. It features live music with jazz on Wednesday nights and saxophone players on “saxy” Fridays nights.

It has a dress code to maintain its elegance and sophistication. No casual attire such as hats, tanks, flip-flops or athletic wear allowed.
