A new restaurant is almost ready to welcome customers in Belleville. Here’s an update

I know folks have been waiting for an update on the new Los Amigos restaurant opening in Belleville.

Here’s what I can tell you at this point.

“It’s almost ready,” said owner Erick Roman of the new location at 2630 Mascoutah Ave.

Roman is waiting on the liquor license, which makes sense. After all, what’s a Mexican restaurant without the margaritas?

I hope to have an official opening date in the coming days, so stay tuned.

Los Amigos Belleville is located at the former site of El Gordito, which closed in January.

It will be the seventh location for the family owned and operated restaurant. Other locations are in O’Fallon, Carlyle, Vandalia, Greenville and Effingham in Illinois, and Kokomo, Indiana.
