Remy Metailler Crashes Trying To Keep Up With Mark Matthews

While tourists generally stick to the mainland when visiting British Columbia, There is an incredible amount of good riding across the Strait of Georgia on Vancouver Island.

Watch Rémy Métailler chase local YouTuber Mark Matthews down some of Cumberland’s finest trails.

In this video, Rémy chases Mark down some technical trails. Métailler is one of the best technical riders in the world, but even he had a couple of falls when staying on Matthew’s wheel.

Cumberland is a hotbed of riding in the Comox Valley in the central part of the island. There is a huge trail network right outside of the walkable town. Forbidden Bikes is headquartered there.

Cumberland is just one of many fantastic riding destinations along the Island Highway which travels north-south.

This video is part of Rémy’s extended trip to Vancouver Island at the moment. Last week, Métailler released a video of the riding at Prevost. See his rave review of the Prevost trails here.

As far as tour guides go, Matthews is the ideal person to have. He is a local trail builder who has built a lot of miles of trail.
