Boat-in worship begins Sunday

SYRACUSE — This Sunday kicks off a 55-year tradition on Lake Wawasee — boat-in worship.

Each Sunday through Sept. 2 from 8:30 to 9 a.m., worshipers gather together on boat and land for music, prayer and a short sermon all from the SS Lilly Pad.

To participate on land, go to the Oakwood Inn Resort and watch from the beach. Be sure to take a chair or blanket.

To participate on the water, boaters can drop anchor around the Lilly Pad, which will be off shore from Oakwood, or people can go to The Frog Tavern at 7:30 a.m. and board the SS Lilly Pad at no charge.

This week's service will be led by: Janet Norris-Gunn, singing; Harlan Steffen, worship leader; and Pat Park, sermon.
