REI’s Biggest Sale of the Year Ends Tonight — and It Has Something for Everyone

“One more day” doesn’t just apply to this long weekend — it’s also how long many of our favorite summer kickoff sales will last.
That includes REI, which is in the final stretch of its biggest sale of the year. The outdoor retailer still has more than 10,000 deals up for grabs as of this writing, which includes clothes, camping gear, luggage, sports equipment, and brands that you probably didn’t even know REI carried, like Jennifer Garner’s go-to workout shoe brand.
The REI Anniversary sale ends on Memorial Day Monday, May 27 (that’s tonight!), and prices start at just under $1 for hand warmers.

Shoes make up more than one-tenth of this sale. There are discounts on men’s, women’s, and kids’ footwear for all seasons, including winter boots and rain boots, walking shoes and hiking shoes, and summer sandals, like these Chaco sandals with adjustable foot straps and arch support.
We also found savings on the shoe brands we’ve spotted celebs wearing, including Jennifer Garner’s go-to, Brooks, and Hoka, worn by Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively. But unfortunately, sizes are limited on these discontinued styles.

REI’s Anniversary Sale is also big on bags, like backpacks for all sorts of outdoor activities, duffel bags and wheeled luggage to bring on flights, laptop bags to tuck under the seat, and packing cubes to organize everything.
One of the best discounts we spotted in this category is on this North Face backpack that’s been certified by the American Chiropractic Association. “I use it in place of a purse now,” wrote an REI customer in a review.

It’s no shock that REI’s sale features more discounts on its in-house brand, REI Co-op, than any other. It’s especially replete in off-season finds, including this slim puffer jacket for 40 percent off. Choose from six colors and sizes ranging from XS to 3X.
