During a recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the talk show host pulled out a newspaper clipping that featured Regina King from when she was a teenager, where the Oscar-winner said she wanted to visit Europe because she was “into clothes.” And it’s no surprise that King’s love of fashion dates back to her teenage years, because her sartorial versatility—from the red carpet to the rehearsal studio—is seriously impressive.

On her way to film for the talk show, the Shirley star was spotted in a shaggy gray crop top sweater and light-wash jeans—a ’fit that screamed ’90s street style. Her crop top featured an abstract white pattern that snaked across it, with pieces of the fabric sticking off the sweater like fringe. The high-neck outerwear included a V-shaped collar with silver arrow-shaped studs on one side, which could be looped through knots on the other. Down low, the actor donned a pair of wide-leg jeans, which she cuffed once so that her black ballet flats were still visible. And thank goodness she did, because we wouldn’t have wanted to miss those golden crystal-shaped accessories that were unobscured at the front of the shoes’ topline.

King rocked a set of long dreadlocks, which she was seen wearing when she appeared on Kimmel’s show that night, too. Meanwhile, she also sported brass hoop earrings and carried a cream Louis Vuitton bag on her shoulder.

The actor and producer is the cover star for Harper’s Bazaar’s April 2024 Possibility Issue, and she is currently in the process of promoting her new Netflix film, Shirley. Earlier this week, she attended the movie’s premiere in a flowing asymmetrical mini gown from Schiaparelli.

The LBD included a golden chain neckline, which wrapped around King’s neck in a halter style. One half of the dress looked fairly standard, while the other side was composed of a ruched draping material, which flowed off the dress into a U-shaped strip that was tied around King’s wrist and connected with another gold chain. To match these metal materials, the If Beale Street Could Talk star wore shiny golden heels from Le Silla.
