Reese Witherspoon — or, rather Elle Woods — is the person who taught me I could love pink, put kindness first, and simultaneously be a boss babe. So, it goes without saying that I draw tons of fashion inspo from the actress, including her recent spring-approved ensemble.

Spotted in New York City, Witherspoon wore a belted shirtdress from Lafayette under a $2,998 tan lapel coat from the same brand, while gold jewelry and large glasses (Harvard Law, anyone?) added the perfect finishing touches. Though, my attention was totally on her low-key sexy shoes.

Witherspoon’s oxblood-colored slingback pumps featured a pointed toe, slim back strap, and kitten heel. The actress isn’t alone in her love of slingbacks, with nearly everyone reaching for the style this spring, including Katie Holmes, Julia Roberts, Kylie Jenner, and even fashion editors. In fact, one InStyle editor even called the practical shoe “comfier than sneakers” — and I’d have to agree; due to the straps, they securely stay on your foot, while the low kitten heel makes it possible to wear them for extended periods of time (yes, please!).
