Reese Witherspoon is back in Elle Woods’ pink skirt suit (and with Bruiser!)

Despite her extensive and impressive cinematic career, there's no denying Reese Witherspoon's most iconic character is Elle Woods. The pink-loving, blonde, Gemini, vegetarian, Harvard law graduate and animal advocate who continues to inspire generations of young women.

So it's an understatement to say we were unbelievably excited when Reese herself took to Instagram to confirm Legally Blonde is getting a TV spin-off. An announcement made only better by the fact Reese donned Elle's signature pink skirt suit for the occasion.

Wearing a Dolce & Gabanna fuchsia tweed button-down cropped jacket with a coordinating pink mini skirt, Reese added pale pink patent slingbacks to complete her Elle Woods transformation. And despite the fact Legally Blonde was released 23 years ago, it's safe to say Reese / Elle looks identical to how she did in 2001. Yep, nothing has changed – apart from Bruiser, we assume, who joined Reese on stage.

While no specific details have been shared about the project, Reese did share in her Instagram caption the TV series will be called Elle and is a prequel to the film, focusing on the character as a regular '90s high school girl. Meaning, despite the fact she probably could pull off resuming her role, it's unlikely Reese will star in the series set to hit Prime Video next year.

Instead, many fans suggested Reese's daughter Ava Phillipe take on the role with one comment reading, "Please tell us that your daughter is taking over the role" and a second adding, "Is your daughter going to play Elle??". A third fan echoed the sentiments, writing, "Ok so who's playing Elle in highschool? Ava?? Feels lik the only acceptable answer".

As soon as we have more info – like exactly what is written in the pages of that scented script – we'll be the first to share it. In the meantime, we feel a Legally Blonde rewatch coming on.
