Puppy Gets a Case of ‘Happy Feet’ When She Realizes She’s Going ‘Bye-Bye’ With Mom

If there's one thing all dogs love, it's getting to go bye-bye with mom or dad when they leave the house. Whether it's going on a walk, in the car, or to go visit a friend, almost all dogs love to get out of the house. RM (AKA Reyna) shared a video in mid-April of her Shih Tzus's reaction when she realized she was going to get to go with mom, and it will make you smile.

The video starts with mom gathering up all the things she needs to leave the house, and the dog knows that means she's heading out without her. She watches as her mom grabs her glasses, wallet, and keys. But watch what happens when mom grabs one last thing - the pup's reaction is beyond adorable!

I love the Shih Tzu's little dance! I can't even with how cute that was! I wasn't alone in how much I loved the video. Commenters left more than 3 thousand comments about Reyna's dog's reaction to getting to go bye-bye with her mom. @PunkyBrewsterO.o got almost 22 thousand likes when she swooned, "The lil tippie tappys!!! @weratedogs pointed out, "Sorry but legally you have to take her everywhere now I don’t make the rules." Reyna received comments from some other big names too like Cetaphil, Ollie, Microsoft, and Cracker Barrel to name a few.

Tips for Joyriding With Your Pup

My dog loves to go bye-bye, but she's not a big fan of getting in and out of the car. We had a West Highland Terrier who hated the car and cried anytime she had to get in it - it can be very frustrating to deal with! Not all dogs like the car and in fact, some are afraid of getting into it. But there are some tips to help make it a little easier for both you and your fur baby.

Does your dog get motion sickness? Not all dogs vomit, but they do get nauseous. Signs that they aren't feeling so hot include them drooling a lot and licking their chops. There are many products out there that help soothe upset tummies and make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable for your pup. If they don't get sick but do get nervous, there are calming aids that will help the to relax.

If your dog is afraid of the car, work on creating positive associations with the car. Put a very special treat in your dog's food bowl, show it to them, open the car door, and place the bowl inside. That's a pretty big incentive! You could also use a new toy or something else that motivates them as well. Next take a short ride around the block, giving another treat when they get out of the car. That's been working well for us so far.

If the only time they get to go in the car is to go to the vet or groomer or another place they may not like, they associate the car with 'the bad place'. Make sure that you take them to other places that they enjoy, like the park, to get a Pup Cup, or to visit a friend as well!
