I’m a shopping editor, and these are the best things I’ve already bought on sale during Prime Day

I love to shop, but I know better than to buy anything at full price. If you’re patient, most items will go on sale at some point, especially during the summertime. Blame it on holiday weekends and, of course, the famous Amazon Prime Day. Not only is Amazon slinging some incredible deals, but other stores are competing with their own major sales. You better believe I’m taking advantage!

As a shopping editor, I monitor the prices of things pretty much all of the time, and I can confirm that these are indeed solid deals. I purchased some of my regular household essentials like paper towels and trash bags at Target — the retailer is offering a $15 gift card when you make a $50 purchase on home care. However, I recently moved into a new home, so I’m using this time to refresh my space. Of course, I can’t turn down a cute summer dress or a pretty handbag, though, so I snuck a few of those into my online shopping carts as well.

Take a look below at the things I’ve already purchased on day one of Amazon Prime Day. Day two is here — what will you buy on sale?

The woven raffia material is super popular this season.

$152 at Amazon

I saw this pretty, woven raffia handbag at a boutique in the Hamptons over the weekend, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Of course, I looked it up and found that the brand is available on Amazon’s high-fashion site, ShopBop. And as a Prime member, I scored it for 25% off.

This high-quality cookwares et will last for years to come.

$425 at Amazon

At first glance, this doesn’t look like a great deal, but it is. For some reason, Amazon is showing that it’s only 5% off. However, I know for a fact that this nine-piece set regularly retails for over $400. I double-checked on Misen’s website, and it is indeed on sale. Misen makes really high-quality cookware, so I can’t wait to test them out in my new kitchen.

It has 12 different blades for chopping, slicing and dicing.

$37 at Amazon

I’ve been wanting one of these for a while, mostly because I’m lazy. I like to cook, but if I can save time and not cry while cutting an onion, count me in. This one has 12 blades, so I can cut, chop, slice and dice pretty much anything. Maybe I’ll start eating more salads or something.

The strips dissolve within 15 minutes and whiten teeth fast.

$24 at Amazon

I tested these SmileDirectClub teeth whitening strips a while ago, and I love them. They actually dissolve in your mouth after about 15 minutes. You can put them on before bed and not worry about falling asleep with them in. They taste kind of minty, and they actually work. You shouldn’t whiten your teeth all of the time — I used them last over six months ago, so it was time to give my teeth a touch-up. Hey, that’s the price I pay for drinking so much coffee and Diet Coke.

This balm heels dry, cracked heels fast.

$6 at Amazon

This was a little embarrassing, but I got a pedicure last week, and the nail technician told me I needed to come back and get the full, fancy spa pedicure because my feet were that bad. For some reason, I now feel the need to improve my feet on my own, go back and totally blow her away with how soft my heels are. I need to prove her wrong — I only need the regular pedicure. Yes, I know this is petty and dumb. She’s still getting my money, but that’s why I got this TikTok-favorite heel balm.

I have a pup who used to rummage through the bathroom trash for attention constantly. I put an end to that with this small 2-gallon bin that has a lid — and not just any lid, an automatic one. He can’t open it up, but I can with a wave of my hand. Plus, I feel a little fancy every time I toss out a tissue.

I told you I extended my bargain hunt past Amazon. Abercrombie is having a sale right now, and it has some really cute summer dresses in stock. Going for the quiet luxury look (ironically on a budget), I purchased this vest mini dress to wear with white sneakers during the day and low heels at night.
