DOVER — On Monday, May 13 at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. at the Dover Public Library make a wooden book bracelet in this beginner friendly creative program. All supplies will be provided. This program is open to all ages but is best suited to ages 10 and up.

Blues concert with Poor Howard Stith and Bullfrog Rogers

DOVER — Monday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dover Public Library. “A Walk Through the Delta” is an overview of the southern blues styles of the 1920s-30s, including delta and Piedmont blues styles with an explanation of the difference, plus guitar rags that highlight the flashy fingerpick style of the early bluesmen. This is truly American art form that became the the basis for both New Orleans style jazz and the Chicago electric blues that gave birth to rock& roll and soul music.

DOVER — On Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. join the Dover Public Library in a discussion of "The Half-Drowned King" by Linnea Hartsuyker as part of this year’s Dover Reads, which invites community members to dive deeper into a shared book.

New Hampshire’s slavery history

PORTSMOUTH — The Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire and the Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden present “Discovery of Our Interconnected Legacies of Portsmouth: New Hampshire’s Slave History” on May 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Portsmouth Public Library. The program will feature eight generation descendants Laurel Guild Yancey and Tonya Ward Singer talking about their discoveries of slavery and its legacy in their families. Ham and bean supper

KENSINGTON — All are invited to enjoy a traditional, New England ham and bean, mac n' cheese supper on Saturday, May 18, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Kensington Congregational Church located at 108 Amesbury Road on Route 150 in the center of Kensington. Wool Day at the Wentworth House

ROLLINSFORD — Spinners and other wool enthusiasts can learn about all things wool from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Rollinsford’s Colonel Paul Wentworth House. Visitors are invited to bring a lunch and a chair and spend the day trying their hand at spindle spinning, enjoy other wool-related activities, or take a tour of the circa 1701 Wentworth House. MADBURY — The Madbury United Church of Christ is hosting a ham and bean supper on Saturday, May 18, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Madbury Town Hall at 13 Town Hall Road. A highlight is delicious handcrafted fruit and cream pies for dessert: $12 for adults and $6 for kids under 12.
