Hanging Basket and Green Thumb Plant Sale

DOVER — The GFWC-Dover Area Woman’s Club is holding its annual Hanging Basket and Green Thumb Plant Sale and is taking preorders for four types of floral baskets. The order deadline is May 9. Baskets are picked up on Saturday, May 18 between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. Also on that day, we will be having our Green Thumb member grown plant sale along with a free children’s planting table. Email GFWC.dawc@gmail.com.

Earth Family Time

DOVER — On Monday, April 22 at 10 a.m. join the Dover Public Library for a special Earth Day Storytime during April vacation week. This all-ages event will explore our planet, with books, songs and an exploratory activity.

#TBT movie marathon: Early 2000s edition

DOVER — On Monday, April 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. teens entering grades 6-12 are invited to join the Dover Public Library for a movie marathon featuring some early 2000s throwbacks in the Library's Lecture Hall. Free free to drop in for one movie or two. Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

Hooked rug repair

DOVER — On Monday, April 22 at 1 p.m. come learn to repair your hooked rugs at the Dover Public Library. Bring in a rug that you would like to repair or just come to take notes on the process. Some repair supplies will be provided. Space is limited. Sign up online to participate, library.dover.nh.gov.

Dungeons and Dragons with Thom the Tabletop Guy

STRATHAM — Teens grades 5 and up are invited to a Dungeons & Dragons game facilitated by Thom the Tabletop Guy on April 23, at 12 p.m. at the Wiggin Memorial Library in Stratham. Elementary Exploration: Building Challenge

DOVER — On Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. kids in grades K-4 are invited to join the Dover Public Library after school for a fun, engaging STEM experiment. This month we will be working on a unique building challenge to see whose paper tower can hold the most weight. This event requires registration to attend, library.dover.nh.gov.

Lecture discusses Maine After Gettysburg 

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — Old Berwick Historical Society will present an online lecture titled “Maine After Gettysburg” on Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m., via Zoom.  The lecture is free and no registration is required to view the lecture. The link to the lecture is at oldberwick.org.

Crafter morning: design a tote bag

DOVER — On Tuesday, April 25 at 11 a.m. kids in kindergarten and up are invited to join the Dover Public Library in the lecture hall to design their own tote bag. Please pre-register online for this event, library.dover.nh.gov. Supplies are limited.

DOVER — On Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the Dover Public Library to design and create their own foam squish toy! Registration is requested, library.dover.nh.gov.

Greenland rummage sale

GREENLAND — The annual rummage sale returns to the Greenland Community Parish House, 44 Post Road, Greenland, on Thursday, April 25 from 12 to 7 p.m.; Friday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a large selection of clothes you can pick up for $6 per Bag. Bags will be provided. Other items will be priced as marked. Delicious food, desserts, & drinks will be available for purchase. DOVER — On Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. join the Dover Public Library for a special demonstration by the students of Dover Shockwave Robotics. No registration required. Best suited for elementary school ages and up.

From sheep to sweater at the Wentworth House

ROLLINSFORD — Come cheer on the Granite Web Makers as they shear a sheep, spin the wool into yarn, and knit a sweater by hand, all in one day, on Sunday, April 28 at the historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House in Rollinsford. The day’s activities will begin at 9 a.m. with sheep shearing, followed by a day of spinning and knitting. Visitors are also invited to tour the Wentworth House, try their hand at wool carding and drop spindle spinning, and peruse a display of reproduction 18th century woolen garments.
