CHARLEVOIX — A new Greek restaurant in Charlevoix is drawing large crowds eager to taste its offerings.

Pita Cruiser owner Jami Miller, who owns the restaurant along with husband Blake Miller, expressed her surprise and excitement at the strong response over their opening weekend.

“It's almost overwhelming for us and not in a bad way. We didn't really realize that people would respond this way. It's been really like, just surprising and exciting,” said Miller.

What began as a food truck in 2014 has now blossomed into a brick-and-mortar establishment. Their opening day was on April 26.

Miller said their lamb gyros are a customer favorite, and she also highlighted their chicken shawarma, which she makes fresh.

“The lamb gyros are the most popular thing on the menu. Everyone wants that because it comes off the spit. And it's juicy and so good. So everyone comes for that,” said Miller. “We put a lot of love into our food, but we just never thought that other people would really love it also."
