The only thing that could make garlic bread any better than it already is in its original form is to make it bite-sized so you can enjoy all the garlicky, salty, buttery goodness in one chomp. And Ree Drummond (a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman) has mastered the art of the one-bite garlic bread. Her cheesy garlic bread pinwheels are beyond delicious, super easy to make, and fuss-free.

“I’m making garlic bread pinwheels. Let me tell you, these are pretty simple to make and they are so irresistible,” Drummond says about these little bites. She starts by unrolling a store-bought crescent dough onto a pan. “This is the easiest batch of yeast dough I’ve ever made,” she says. “I popped open a can.”

She then drenches it in a “scrumptious buttery concoction,” which is the code name for a winning combination of melted salted butter, pressed garlic, basil pesto, grated parmesan, and shredded mozzarella. Yum, yum, and more yum!

Drummond then evenly coats the crescent roll dough in that mixture before rolling the dough up into a log (starting on one of the long ends). “I’m trying to keep it pretty rolled up,” Drummond says. “I don’t want there to be any air in the center.”

Then, the log is sliced into 12 even pieces and those pieces are placed on a baking sheet where they’re brushed with more garlicky pesto butter. Finally, bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, and they’re ready to be served.

How easy is that? Of course, because this recipe is so simple, there are so many ways to customize it. Rather than basil pesto, you can try sundried tomato pesto. Or swap out the mozzarella cheese for cheddar jack and add cracked black pepper to give these bites a kick.
