Photographer finds couple whose proposal he captured at Yosemite National Park

Michigan photographer Matthew Dippel has found the mystery couple who he captured getting engaged at Yosemite National Park in California.

Dippel was hiking with his friend Josh Van Gorden when he asked him to walk out to the famous lookout Taft Point to pose for a picture. But while Dippel was waiting for Van Gorden to emerge on the cliff, Dippel spotted two other tiny figures in the — one standing and one kneeling.

Dippel quickly realized that he was witnessing a marriage proposal. “I had my settings all ready to go, due to waiting for Josh, so I just snapped away and managed to get a beautiful photo,” Dippel told Yahoo Lifestyle.

But when he ran over to try to deliver the image, he was unable to find the lovebirds — so he began an epic social media mission to track them down.

After more than 200,000 people shared the stunning image across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, Dippel revealed on Sunday, “I FOUND THEM.”

“Everyone meet, Charlie and his fiancé Melissa the happy happy couple that was out on the point in my Taft Point Proposal,” he wrote.

But in yet another incredible twist, Charlie Vo revealed to local affiliate Fox17 in Grand Rapids, Mich., that it’s not the first time he’s proposed to his Melissa.

The first proposal was witnessed by family and friends, but Vo decided he wanted to do a more personal proposal as well. “I stumbled across our picture being posted, and I was like, ‘Holy crap that’s us,’” he said, according to Fox17. “I read the caption, and then I tracked down Matt and I reached out to him. But we were totally unaware of this entire thing. It was so shocking.”
