Pet Toucan Sounds Like a Squeaky Toy When His Human Loves on Him
Maria Stagliano who lives in the Washington, DC area is the proud owner of a Chestnut Eared Aracari, which is a member of the Toucan family, named Chester.
Not only is Chester super affectionate, he makes the funniest noises ever when Stagliano pets him!
The sweet TikTok video was uploaded by the TikTok account for @Chester_the_toucan and people can't get enough of this sweet bird. One person said, "I didn't know banana chickens made noises." Another added, "This bird can meow?" Someone else hilariously said, "I'm not wearing my glasses and I thought this was a kitten climbing into a banana peel for a solid 10 seconds." He does sound like a kitten!

On Chester's website Maria explains, "I met Chester in 2021 when I was at a bird store hoping to play with parrots. We ended up bonding and before I knew it, I was researching everything possible about owning a pet toucan so I could incorporate him into my life. On May 31, 2021, I officially adopted Chester and took him home."
Even though he's super adorable, it sounds like owning a Toucan is a gigantic responsibility.
Do Toucans Make Good Pets?
Chester was adopted, well, it seems like he was technically rescued from a pet store and his owner shared his adoption story on TikTok.
Maria explains on her website, "My goal is to give Chester the best, most enriching life possible. I bought a leather harness so I could take him with me outside to dinner on patios and other bird-friendly activities. I moved into a bigger apartment to provide him plenty of space to fly, hide and enjoy sunlight throughout the day. I work from home and we spend our days together. From when we wake up to when we go to bed, Chester and I are together. We've created little routines and have learned how to communicate with each other."
Not only does Chester needs nonstop attention, a huge diet of fruit and specialized veterinary care, as Maria explained above, these beautiful birds can also be destructive.
