But one cat dad has gone above and beyond. This dad, known on TikTok as @abrameng, decided to build his cat Kurt a special scratching post. Kurt loves scratching posts, as many cats do as well. His idea is absolutely everything!

A scratching post is actually an excellent way for your cat to self-groom. The scratching can help remove the outer layer of a cat's nails, keeping their nails strong and healthy. Plus, it's beneficial to stop your cat from scratching the furniture.
Plenty of cats scratch furniture as a way of marking their territory, stretching their back, legs, and feet, and sharpening their claws. But sometimes, cats don't understand what a scratching post is and you have to lure them to it. You can start by sprinkling some catnip to entice him or her to scratch there. It's also a good idea to place it near where they've been scratching and with multiple cats, keep multiple posts.
