Paso Del Norte Trail will plants trees along Playa Drain trail this weekend

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—Paso Del Norte Trail invites the community to help plant trees along the Playa Drain Trail to commemorate “Celebrate Trails Day.”

The Paso Del Norte Trail will hold its “Planting Roots with the Community” event from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Playa Drain trail, located at 7433 Mimosa Avenue, an 8-mile segment from Ascarate Park to Capistrano Park

According to the news release by Paso Del Norte Trail, research shows that adding trees and vegetation can lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade. Close proximity to trees and vegetation also has a positive impact on mental wellness.

Paso Del Norte will plant 20 Palo Verde trees and 5 Honey Mesquite trees.
