She’s in her cottagecore era

Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.

While scrolling through Pamela Anderson’s Instagram recently, I came across one comment that really resonated: “Here for Pam’s cottagecore era.” And well, I couldn’t agree more.

The actress, 56, waded through water and raked up leaves in a video, and her outfit was certainly not the outdoorsy blueprint I’m used to — she wore a long floral dress, a cozy sweater, and rubber rain boots.

To me, the dress embodied femininity: It was breezy and light and covered in flowers. It looked like it would move in slow-motion in whooshes around her if she were to start frolicking in a Pride & Prejudice-like field. The sweater added warmth and coziness to the ’fit, while the boots were functional but still green with the nature theme. In essence, it was the opposite of a utilitarian jumpsuit or a worn-out pair of denim that I was expecting for such activities.

Floral dresses are also a celebrity-favored style in the spring and summer: Sarah Jessica Parker wore a patterned midi dress last April, while Reese Witherspoon and Chrissy Teigen were seen wearing floral dresses last summer. Jennifer Garner also wore one just last week. As for sweaters and boots, it’s always good to have those, too, as spring and summer days can still be chilly or rainy, and you need protection from things like wind, puddles, and mud.

After sleuthing around, I found this wrap dress from Prettygarden — and pretty garden is exactly what it’s giving. It’s decked out in a delicate print and also has some frilly ruffles, which is another celeb-worn detail, for more femininity. It has short sleeves, so your shoulders won’t be bare and the fabric shouldn’t awkwardly ride up under a sweater.

I think the batwing sleeves on this Zesica sweater add something special to it, and they also make me feel better about covering up a pretty dress. Multiple shoppers also mentioned that the silhouette is tighter around the waistline for a silhouette-flattering effect. The camel color looks springy like Anderson’s, though it comes in other colors as well and sizes S to XXL.

Planone Mid-Calf Waterproof Rain Boots

I used to sing “rain, rain, go away” anytime a group of clouds started forming. Now, I want it to pour so I can wear these rain boots. They’re designed to be waterproof, so my socks won’t get soggy when the rain catches me off guard, and the bottom is grooved to stop slippage. Plus, according to one shopper, they “look and feel better” than their old Hunter boots.

I’m ready to enter my own personal Pamela Anderson-inspired era, and now I know how to dress to do it. Keep scrolling to shop more floral dresses, sweaters, and rain boots now.
