Owners reunited with lost dog after 4 months

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A dog named Blue is home again!

Blue went missing four months ago near Franklin, but has since be reunited with his owners.

“My wife was in tears and she said, ‘Did you cry?’ and I said, ‘Almost,'” Ted Powers said.

Blue is back to living his best life at home, but the escape artist was missing for months.

“I hollered for him and he didn’t come back, and that was the day before Christmas. So he was gone almost four months,” Powers said.

Four months ago, a woman found Blue and took him home with her. The Williamson County Animal Center said she couldn’t take care of his anymore and took him to the animal center.

Staff members checked Blue for a microchip, and there was a match.

“Blue was missing since Christmas, and we were able to contact his original owners and reunite them in the same day,” said Penny Adams with the Williamson County Animal Center.

Blue’s emotional reunion with his family was not lost on staff members either.

“Some of the best parts of our job is adopting the animals, but even is when we can reunite a pet with an owner that’s been missing them for a little while,” Adams said.

The Williamson County Animal Center encourages all pet owners to get their furbabies microchipped. You can do so at the Williamson County Animal Center for $15; staff members said Blue’s story is a good example of why you should consider it.
