Oregon hotel named among best beach resorts in the U.S.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – One hotel in Cannon Beach is among the top 15 beach resorts in the United States, according to a list from Travel + Leisure.

The list features beach stays from Southern California to New York with “something for everyone at these properties, whether you’re trying to entertain a gaggle of children (or the adults in your life) with boogie boarding and snorkeling or you prefer to focus on poolside piña coladas,” Travel + Leisure said.

The Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach made the top resort list, with nods for its beachfront views of Haystack Rock, community events, and rooms with fireplaces and private balconies.

“Part of the appeal of Stephanie Inn is community; every day, guests are invited to mingle over a wine and beer gathering in the library as well as an evening nightcap around the fire,” Travel + Leisure said.

Travel + Leisure’s list also includes Montage Laguna Beach in Southern California. The 30-acre resort received high marks for its “unbeatable” views and exceptional service, similar to “the kind of experience you might find in Positano.”

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina, the Cloister at Sea Island in Georgia, Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Nevada, The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, and Ocean House in Westerly, Rhode Island round out the top five spots on the list.
