OPENING DAY: Water World kicks off 2024 season

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — What is arguably Dothan’s biggest attraction is about to open for the summer season.

Hundreds of residents across the Wiregrass lined up to enter the park on Saturday.

Last year the park saw over 93,000 visitors which is about 12,000 more than in 2021.

48% of the attendance was from Houston County, but over 50% was from surrounding counties and other states.

Now Water World hopes to break those attendance records by welcoming new guests and guests who love to take a day out of their weekend to enjoy the water, food, and rides with their loved ones.

“When we get inside, we are just going to have fun and eat,” Dothan resident, Latrissa McCall said. “We are also going to get in the water wade pool and enjoy the weather.”

From now until Labor Day the park will be open every weekend and during June and July, it will be open every day except, Monday.
