JBL is a great standard in audio equipment. For the money, there's not really a better professional and home audio brand around. This system showcases that. The soundbar has nine speakers built in—six drivers for all-around sound, three tweeters for the high range. Each of the two detachable surround speakers contains another driver and another tweeter. The 10-inch subwoofer is there to give you lows that make you feel what you're watching.

What does all that mean, though? Why do you need or want all these different speakers? Well, let's start with a subwoofer, the most obvious. When placed at the very back of your living area, a subwoofer is the engine that drives your viewing experience. When there's action scenes or a deep, powerful score, you feel it—like in the movie theater. The drivers, of which there are eight total, do most the sonic heavy lifting. Most dialogue and sound is in the frequency range of these mid-range speakers, so you need a handful of them to give you clear, consistent sound. Then, the tweeters handle the highest pitch sounds—trebles in music, front-of-the-mouth sounds in dialogue. All together, this system gives you the clearest dialogue and richest sound of any surround system on the market.
Other than that, the design of this system makes it an incredible buy. The two detachable speakers have internal, rechargeable batteries. That means you can move them around in your space. If you have two viewers, they can be on the two side tables. If you have a room-full, you can place them in the far corners. Everyone always gets the best sound.
