Olivia Pope’s Pearly Wedding Hair on ‘Scandal’ Was Dreamy

Thursday night’s episode of Scandal was set in an alternate timeline where Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope gets married. The best part? Her hair, of course! She wore it naturally and pulled up in a bun, and accessorized the style with pearls.

The pearls lined Washington’s bun in two neat, perfectly spaced lines. They add a dose of glam to her ivory dress and simple jewelry. The bridal look is an addition to the hair accessories trend we’ve seen taking over red carpets. It’s sure to become a fan favorite atop bridal Pinterest boards.

Washington shared a photo from the wedding episode shoot — which also happened to be Scandal‘s 100th episode — with a message for fans. “So much joy in my heart. 100 episodes in. Never could have imagined or predicted all the love and gratitude that’s in my heart today,” she wrote.

When it comes to personal style, the actress’s taste in hairstyles is simple and classy, just like her alternative timeline alter-ego. She’s lately been rocking a sleek cropped bob with defined lines. Recently, stylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew used her signature line of extensions to alter Washington’s look, and she explained her approach to Yahoo Beauty. “Being that she just had her second baby, I definitely wanted to change up her look a lot and keep her modern and fresh,” said Sturdivant-Drew. “Her look is pretty classy, but I wanted to just modernize it but still in a sexy way. She is having so much fun with it, and she loves to change it up. She’s a big part of it as well.”

For her own wedding, which took place last year and was very under-the-radar, Washington kept things simple. “The dress was plain white, slim-fitting, like it could have been off a rack,” a source told People. “It was really regular.”

The best part about Pope’s wedding? Gladiators got to watch it all happen — in an alternative world.
