Okemo Mountain Resort Reporting 16 Inch Storm Total

Vermont's Okemo Mountain Resort reports receiving 16 inches of fresh powder in the last 36 hours.

Officials posted an Instagram photo with the caption, "the storm left 16 inches in its wake and we’re loving it."

At Okemo, officials joked, "Just a little white on the trees and snow under your skis is a surefire way to make you forget all about that silly groundhog. What a great way to start the week!"

The week definitely got off to a good start: 3 inches of the recent storm total fell overnight, dusting things off for fresh tracks on Monday.

This new snow also gave Okemo the ability to expand terrain and acreage. The resort is back to 90% of their terrain open this morning.

Vermont has been having a miracle March, with resorts across the state seeing significant snowfall.

Specifically, Stratton saw 15 inches of fresh snow in the last 48 hours, with 3 inches of that coming down in the last day.

The state was also hit with power outages on Sunday due to the wet snow.

Okemo has seen 82 inches of snow so far this season.

Unfortunately, the resort is forecast to see rain starting on Friday (although things could change if temperatures drop), so it may be best to get your turns in now while the snow is fresh.
