The start of May isn’t traditionally the best time to score deals on furniture or decor. Most brands typically kick off their summer sales around Memorial Day and end the season with a bang around Labor Day. The Home Depot, though, is bucking that trend by bringing back their Decor Days sale today, where you can score up to 50% off curated finds for refreshing your home — big and small — now until May 6.

With Decor Days, you’ll find plenty of great deals on everything you need to spruce up your home for summer and beyond, from furniture and lighting to rugs and decor. You’ll even find fixtures like this tub and shower faucet, reno supplies like wall and floor tile, and small kitchen appliances. Designer brands are on sale (hello, KitchenAid Stand Mixer for 27% off!) alongside furnishings from The Home Depot’s private label, StyleWell.

Goodwin Mid-Century Modern Square Arm Sofa

$299 (was $499) at Home Depot

What do I truly think is the cream of the crop deal-wise, though? The StyleWell Goodwin-Mid Century Modern Sofa, which comes in two different fabrics, caramel faux leather and sand microfiber. The faux leather version is a dupe for a comfy couch that’s near and dear to my heart, but THD’s Decor Days pricing for this piece right now — just $299! — simply cannot be beat. That’s comparable to IKEA’s KLIPPAN, which just underwent a price cut to $299, and a little more on-trend, in my opinion.

If you’re in the market for a new sofa and your budget is tight, the Goodwin is an ideal choice that looks like it costs way more than it currently does. Sure, pretty much every product description ever will tell you that a given piece is the perfect blend of form and function, but that’s not just lip service here.

I love that this sofa has a solid wood frame and features one tufted seat cushion, two typical signs of better construction and durability when it comes to higher-end sofas. The couch also comes with removable bolster pillows, which add a touch of personality, coziness, and comfort (not to mention value). Despite this little bit of flourish, the clean-lined silhouette still feels very mid-century modern-leaning and fitting for everything from a warm minimalist setting to a boho space.

At about 76 inches long and 31 inches deep, I wouldn’t exactly call the Goodwin a small-space sofa, but I think it’d fit in most apartments, even studios on the tinier side. The proportions are generous enough to sit comfortably with another person (or maybe two, if you’re okay packing in a bit). Regardless, you’re getting a lot of sofa for the cost, so now’s the time to buy before the price goes up! And check out the rest of The Home Depot’s Decor Days offerings while you’re at it.
