You Can Now Play 3 Classic 'Grand Theft Auto' Games on Netflix

Netflix may be primarily known for its movies and TV shows, but the streaming giant boasts a growing video game library on its mobile app as well. The collection is nothing to scoff at, and it just got a little bigger, as three classic Grand Theft Auto games are now available to play on the platform.

Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are all available to play on Netflix's mobile app starting today. The trio is packaged as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which was originally released on traditional gaming consoles in 2021. Netflix's acquisition of the titles means they're now available to all subscribers on their Android and iOS devices for no additional cost.

GTA III was first released back in 2001 and was followed up by GTA: Vice City in 2002 and GTA: San Andreas in 2004. GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition joins more than 80 mobile games in Netflix's catalog, some of which are inspired by original Netflix shows and movies, like a chess game based on The Queen's Gambit, a baking game in the world of Nailed It!, a cartel-building venture inspired by Narcos, a dating game similar to Love Is Blind, and various Stranger Things entries. You can also find well-known faces like Sonic the Hedgehog and common mobile games like solitaire, Bloons, Heads Up!, and Cut the Rope.

The three GTA games coming to mobile platforms will help tide fans of the series over until GTA VI is released in 2025. Coincidentally, the forthcoming sequel returns to the series' Miami-inspired Vice City. So while fans wait to experience Vice City in impressive modern graphics, they can travel back in time to see how far the series has come.
