Jennifer Lopez

I go on mental health walks through Central Park every day because, well, a break in my day is absolutely essential for me to maintain a certain level of productivity. Not to mention, right now is the most magical time of year to ogle at the blooming cherry blossoms that cause every passerby (literally) to stop and snap a photo. It’s funny, really, but also incredibly wholesome to see people’s excitement at the very simple things in life.

I, much like the rest of Central Park walkers, take in all the sights and sounds of the nature around me, but I also take note of people's outfits — especially the shoes they wear. Hey, it’s the fashion editor in me, but it’s also part research. I like to see what footwear people reach for to trek miles upon miles through the park, and there’s one style I see most often: On’s sneakers that I also just spotted on Jennifer Lopez, yet again. So, I guess it’s time I join the masses.

Lopez was photographed leaving her hotel in New York City in a relatively low-key look that was almost the complete opposite of the denim outfits she’s been wearing basically nonstop. She’s been wearing so many big, baggy jeans, but this time, she went with classic leggings, which she paired with a ballet-inspired wrap top from Joah Brown (I’m so into it) and a bold shoulder wool coat. But the eye-catching part were those stark white On sneakers.

It looks like Lopez went with the brand’s best-selling Cloudnova sneakers, based on the simple design, the pull tab on the tongue, and the signature treaded sole. As the label describes, this particular style fuses a runner-tech comfort with a street-ready attitude, which makes it ideal for simple brunch dates or, well, runs around Central Park. And as we know, people (aka, me!) love a muti-faceted shoe that can be used for various occasions.

The Lopez-worn trainer features a breathable mesh upper perfect for the hot months, a padded heel for ample support, step after step, an inner sock, game changing lace-up method the ensures it stays put, and the brand’s hame changing sole that combines a Cushy CloudTec® construction with an an embedded Speedboard™. The former provides shock absorption while the latter propels you forward, according to the product description. Sounds, in short, iconic.

It’s worth noting Lopez isn't the only celeb I’ve seen in On’s sneakers, and she won’t be the last, either. Supermodel Gisele Bündchen wears hers on the regular, not to mention the style also landed on Google’s spring 2024 shoe trend list, which pulled top-searched styles. So, clearly, big things are in store for these sneakers, which means I better snag my pair now before they inevitably sell out.
