The North Face's Debut Film, 'Belonging' Celebrates Exploration and Sisterhood

For Amira Patel, exploring the outdoors was a way to connect with herself and find belonging. She began her love affair with nature by climbing England's highest peak. Then, over time, as Patel leveled up to more challenging expeditions, she encountered more female hikers and guides with whom she began to form meaningful relationships.

These newfound connections led Patel to create The Wanderlust Women, a hiking and adventure community for Muslim women. Together, The Wanderlust Women are normalizing Muslim women adventuring and building confidence in the outdoors.

Inspired by Patel's story and resilience, The North Face brought her and a close team of female explorers to one of the most formidable treks in the world, the Annapurna base camp trek in the Himalayas. With support and confidence, Patel and her group conquered the trek and experienced a journey of self-growth enriched with sisterhood.
