North Carolina Shelter Dog Seeks Forever Home After Her Owner was Deployed

The Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption in Sanford, North Carolina shared a touching post about an adoptable dog they have at their shelter named Bellatrix.

The two-year-old Labrador mix was surrendered after her owner made the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home because they were being deployed.

The post explains that "My name is Bellatrix - my dad rescued me 2 years ago from another local rescue. Unfortunately he is being deployed. Sadly he had just returned from another deployment so I’ve been missing him so much.

This time around he didn’t have anyway to keep me during his deployment, and my original rescue didn’t take me back. Thankfully I have crash landed at the CARA. I am safe.

He reports that I am an amazing girl. If I am indoors I am quiet, housebroken, like my crate and my dog bed, and if I’m outside I am a playful girl. "

It's always such a heartbreaking decision to have to re-home a dog but in this case Bella's owner was really doing what is in her best interest. The shelter also included this update which read, "Bella is not able to return to her dad even if someone fostered. She is looking for a permanent home. Thank you for all the resources suggested. He did consider them prior to surrendering, but his schedule is too erratic/unpredictable moving forward. He wants her to have stability. Please help us find Bella a forever home."
