NHL Players Attempting to Guess Australian Animals Is Internet Gold

Two National Hockey League teams made their way to Australia to play preseason games as part of the Global Series. This series is a way to expand the game of hockey to the Land Down Under. And while the NHL is attempting to teach those in Australia about hockey, it's only fitting that these players learn a little something about the animals native to the continent.

The NHL had four players attempt to match up the names of animals to their photos and let's just say it did not disappoint. Take a look at the September 21 video that was posted to the NHL YouTube channel. Can you name them all?

O.M.G. We love this so much! It's nice to see hockey players in a different environment other than the ice rink. Plus, who doesn't like giving professional players a little challenge? They luckily nailed it on the first try!

We laughed out loud when the one hockey player said, "Good thing we went to the zoo yesterday." We wonder if they all would've nailed it if they didn't go to the zoo. But we're glad they got to go to the zoo as it's a must-do when visiting the country. Plus, a trip to the Australia Zoo is the perfect way to prepare yourself for a quiz on the wildlife in Australia.

The NHL Global Series will be focusing on introducing street hockey to Australia's youth ages 6 to 16. The pilot year will focus on local schools in the Victoria state with the hope of expanding it across the country by mid-2024. While Down Under, two NHL teams - Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings - will face off on September 23 and 24 in Melbourne, Australia.
