When can you go to a national park this year without paying any parking, entrance fees?

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — National Park Week is right around the corner — and as part of the celebration, parks will have fee-free entry to kick the week off.

Most of the nation’s national parks have free admission, but some will charge entry or parking fees.

On Saturday, April 20, any parks that do charge entry fees will waive these fees for the first day of National Park Week.

The National Park Service (NPS) has other events throughout the week; including volunteer opportunities, activities for children and more.

Saturday isn’t the only day you can get free access to parks — this year, NPS is offering free entry to all parks on four more days after that:

  • June 19: Juneteenth National Independence Day

  • Aug. 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act

  • Sept. 28: National Public Lands Day

  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day

You can find a list of all national parks by state and region online.
