National Park Service Shares Joyful Video of Baby Porcupine 'Playing Air Guitar'

Porcupines may be the sharpest critters in the animal kingdom, but it's hard to deny that they're also quite cute. In fact, I'd be tempted to get close to one if I didn't know how painful and pokey their quills can be. Plenty of animal professionals have the tools and training to handle sharp critters like porcupines, but there are also many places where people can spot them in the wild.

Alaska might not have been the first place to come to mind, but that's one place that porcupines call home. In fact, the National Park Service took a fantastic video of a baby porcupine in Glacier Bay National Park, and now it's making waves online. Not only is the baby animal as cute as can be--it's even playing air guitar!

LOL! This is an adorable sight to see, so whoever shot this video is very lucky. I wish I knew more about how they got the footage, but all I know for sure is that they were very, very lucky. An adorable porcupine shredding air guitar isn't something you'd see every day!

In reality, this national park porcupette (that's the official name for baby porcupines) isn't truly rocking out to music. It's just giving itself a scratch! We all get itchy now and again, so I can relate, but I can only imagine how satisfying it was to scratch an itch as thoroughly as this wild animal did.

"He’s got talent," admitted commenter @brett_goes_backpacking, "but his guitar is tuned a bit….sharp." Haha! There's almost never a bad time for a clever animal pun, but some fun videos like this are practically begging for it to happen. Music analogies and a porcupette? It can't get much better than that!
