Youthforia faces backlash over dark foundation
Beauty brand Youthforia is facing backlash for the darkest shade of its Date Night foundation, which is being compared to black face paint. Beauty influencer Golloria George posted a video swatching Youthforia's shade 600 foundation as well as black face paint, and the two are nearly identical. The beauty brand previously faced criticism in October 2023 after some influencers called the brand out for not offering an inclusive range in its 15-shade Date Night Skin Tint line. "Last year, the shade wasn't dark enough. Not only do you miss the mark once, you go back and miss the mark again," George told Time. "That just says a lot about the ethos of the brand. It rubbed me the wrong way, and I thought, 'This is really hurtful.'" {Time}

Tapestry-Capri deal to face hearing in September
The court hearing for the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's attempt to block Tapestry Inc.'s takeover of Capri Holdings has been set for Sept. 9 (just in time for New York Fashion Week). The preliminary injunction hearing is expected to last a week and a half. If an injunction is granted, the companies would be blocked from merging until after the FTC's in-house court decides the legality of the deal. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
