Chanel will restage Cruise 2025 in Hong Kong
After first showing its Cruise 2025 collection in Marseille on May 2, Chanel will bring it to Hong Kong on Nov. 5. The French luxury brand had previously planned to show its Cruise 2019 collection in Hong Kong but ended up canceling amid anti-government protests at the time. In a statement, Chanel said, "This event seals historic ties with the city and celebrates Chanel's attachment to Hong Kong SAR as well as the vibrancy and modernity of its culture." {Fashionista inbox}

ANDAM Innovation Award winner announced
Alternative Innovation, a materials company that developed Alterskin — a recyclable and sustainable leather substitute — has won the 2024 ANDAM Innovation Award. The company says Alterskin, "a shape-memory plant-based bioresin," can be used in several ways, including as a coating and as a standalone material. ANDAM, a group dedicated to guiding and advising young fashion brands, will also award Alternative Innovation a €100,000 grant. {Fashionista inbox}

Tory Burch announces new executive leadership appointments
Tory Burch LLC is building out its executive team with three new appointments: Christophe de Pous (past titles include president of global markets for Clarins and president and CEO of Gucci Americas Inc.) will be the company's new president of North America; Beverly Morgan has been named chief people officer; and Emilia Fabricant, an executive at Tory Burch for nearly five years, has been promoted to president and chief merchandising and global supply chain officer, effective immediately. De Pous and Morgan start on June 3 and all three will report to CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel. In a statement, Burch said, "I am happy to welcome Christophe and Beverly and to acknowledge Emilia's expanded scope of responsibilities. It is an exciting time for our company and I could not be more appreciative of our entire global leadership team." {Fashionista inbox}

Drexel University celebrates Mary McFadden in new exhibition
A new exhibition using materials from the newly gifted Mary McFadden Archive at Drexel University is now open on the college's campus in Philadelphia, Penn. through Oct. 11, 2024. "Modern Ritual: The Art of Mary McFadden" celebrates the 85-year-old American fashion designer's artistry through drawings, personal documents and approximately 40 mannequins wearing her designs. {Fashionista inbox}

Alyssa Vingan announces new podcast 'The New Garde'
Alyssa Vingan, former editor-in-chief of Nylon and Fashionista, has launched a new podcast titled "The New Garde." In a post to Instagram, Vingan says the series is "about the future of the fashion and beauty industries." She continues, "As much as I love seeing 'The Devil Wears Prada' discourse resurface constantly, it's time for a new pop-cultural reference point for what it's like to work in (and break into) the biz today." The first two episodes are available now on Patreon.
