Mom Takes a Digger After Being Chased by Duck and She'll Never Live It Down

Whoever said owning pets was fun must've never had a pet duck, because when these guys get feisty — watch out. Just take a look at the fall that one woman took when her duck started chasing her. It was scary! But thankfully we think she found a way to forgive him after the embarrassing incident.

The woman has three pets; a dog, a duck, and a chicken. But it was her Mallard duck who really gave her a hard time recently.

It's always one of your kids who gives you a hard time, isn't it? The poor woman was just walking her chicken inside the house when something must've set her Mallard duck off — he was in a real mood.

In the video, the woman noticed that something was wrong when she went to close the door behind her.

"Are you chasing me?" she asked the duck, who was still outside.  She let the duck inside the house. Instead of walking over he charged, causing the woman to try and lift herself up and over him but instead she ended up on the floor. Ouch!

The duck wouldn't let up, and the video cut off while the woman was trying to shoo him out of the house.

"THIS ESCALATED QUICKLY!" she joked in the caption.

People in the comments section couldn't stop cracking up. "Having a pet duck ain't all it's quacked up to be is it?" joked one person. "Chicken, completely chill. Duck chose chaos and violence," someone else teased. "Even after practically body slamming bro he ain’t stop coming," another person added. "What in the quack a doodle do is going on here?" one person asked.

Keeping a Duck as a Pet

Okay, so not every day is going to be as bad as this one was. Believe it or not there are lots of reasons why ducks make excellent pets.

First you should know there are lots of different kinds of ducks; Mallards, Pekin, Cayuga, Muscovy, Khaki Campbell, and so many more. Ducks typically live outside and have a lifespan of about 10 years.

Temperament-wise it's sort of a mixed bag. Pekin ducks are known for being friendly and calm, while other breeds might be noisier or talkative. Ducks tend to like to live in flocks too. Despite what the video might lead you to believe, ducks aren't really aggressive unless they are nesting or guarding their young. So we guess this duck was just having a really bad day.
