Happy birthday to my mom! She turns 64 in just a few days, but she’s always been young at heart — and appearance. My mom has a vibrant (but comfy) style and is always slathering the best youth elixirs on her complexion. Many people often think she’s in her 40s thanks to her good skin and fun fashion sense, so I’m keeping the party going (literally) by treating her to all her favorite things for the big day.

Below, you’ll find some of her favorite cushy shoe brands, skin-firming serums, and items she generally swears by, starting at $7:

Advanced Clinicals Purifying Facial Mist Toner

Amazon

Amazon

My mom has sworn by facial toners for as long as I can remember. It’s the reason I absolutely can’t live without spritzing my face before applying my serum and moisturizer; it’s a must-have step that we both feel not only helps products sink in better, but has additional good-for-your-skin benefits. She absolutely loves tea tree oil in her toners specifically because it helps her feel “fresh” and shrinks her pores. This $7 option from Advanced Clinicals is also made with witch hazel and aloe vera for an extra soothing and hydrating feel.

Hempz Age-Defy Body and Hand Lotion

Amazon

Amazon

Hempz is another thing she’s been using forever; she always has a various scent of the body lotion somewhere in her apartment. The brand is loved for its nourishing body moisturizers — in fact, its Age Defy Hydrating and Firming lotion has nearly 9,000 perfect five-star ratings on Amazon. Made with its signature hemp seed oil, shea butter, aloe, caffeine, and more plant-based ingredients, the moisturizer promises to hydrate, soothe, and firm skin. Shoppers agree that it’s “improved [their] crepey skin” and makes skin generally “look and feel younger.”

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Smoothing Moisturizer

Nordstrom

Nordstrom

I introduced my mom to Fresh skincare a few years ago since the brand is a personal favorite of mine, and now she’s always asking me to restock her moisturizer stash. She particularly loves the brand’s Lotus Youth Preserve collection, including the Lotus Youth Preserve Smoothing Moisturizer. The lightweight moisturizer tackles fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing texture thanks to ingredients like lotus, star fruit leaf extract, and vitamin E.

Cushionaire Fame Recovery Cloud Slide

Amazon

Amazon

Something else I introduced my mom to? Cushy slides. I bought these Cushionaire slides for myself and was obsessed (and still am) with just how bouncy and comfortable they were. Plus, they’re super fun to wear thanks to their exaggerated silhouette. My mom fell in love with them the moment she tried them on, so I’m grabbing her another pair for this spring and summer. Fortunately, there are 23 cute colors to choose from, so you can’t really go wrong.

Mac Cosmetics Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation

Nordstrom

Nordstrom

My mom is super picky about her makeup, but loves any and everything from Mac. She runs through its products quickly, so I’m adding this SPF-infused serum-meets-foundation to her collection. The lightweight foundation was formulated to be super hydrating, per the brand, and comes in 21 shades. Shoppers say it “glides over pores and wrinkles and makes you look so youthful and hydrated,” and rave that it’s “better than a tinted moisturizer.”

Filorga NCEF-Shot Anti-Aging Serum

Amazon

Amazon

This is the best anti-aging serum, if you ask my mom. While I haven’t tried it myself, I agree with her that the French serum definitely stands out from the rest: the formula was created to mimic a mesotherapy injection, a French-originating face filler. It features the active ingredients in the injection, including a blend of hyaluronic acid, amino acids, vitamins, coenzymes, minerals, and antioxidants. Together, they all work to smooth and firm skin in a similar way to filler. My mom swears it’s tightened her skin and loves its “delicate” scent.

Mejuri Chunky Medium Hoops

Mejuri

Mejuri

Both my mom and I are gold hoop girlies, and she’s been pestering me for perfectly chunky, but not too oversized, earrings. She also prefers the clicker closure for a more secure fit. While that doesn’t seem like a lot to ask, it did send me on quite the wild goose chase — until I came across Mejuri’s Chunky Medium Hoops. They seemed perfect, and after receiving them in the mail, I can confirm that they are. They’re beautifully chunky without being too-in-your-face and are a true medium size. Plus, they’re super shiny and lightweight.

Oofos Oomg Sport Low Sneaker

Oofos

Oofos

This is definitely a saved-the-best-for-last moment. Oofos has become my mom’s go-to shoe brand, and it’s not surprising why. The Gisele Bündchen-worn brand makes athlete-inspired recovery shoes, including slides, sneakers, clogs, and more. I’ve lost count of how many Oofos shoes she owns at this point, but that doesn’t stop her from asking for more. She’s a hairdresser and the pressure of standing on her feet for hours does a number on her back, so she relies on the brand’s super supportive insoles to keep things in check. I’m adding yet another shoe to her collection, the Oomg Sport Low Sneaker, a lightweight slip-on shoe that looks just as stylish as it is comfy.
