Melania Trump will return to Texas migrant detention centers this week — days after 'I really don't care' jacket drama

Melania Trump is headed back to Texas — and it’s safe to guess which item won’t make it on her packing list this time.

On Tuesday, the first lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed to CNN that Trump would be returning to the border to visit migrant detention centers. FLOTUS was reportedly unable to visit an immigration processing center in McAllen, Texas, last week because of flooding in the area.

“Mrs. Trump plans to visit additional facilities sometime this week,” Grisham said, though she did not specify a day for the trip.

“The first lady is moved by what she is hearing, and what she saw in Texas, and she wants to again see and listen for herself what is happening in these places.”

She made her first visit to the border on June 21, notoriously boarding her flight wearing a Zara jacket with the words “I really don’t care, do u?” on the back. Though Grisham dismissed speculation that the jacket had any “hidden meaning,” President Trump later tweeted that it was aimed at the “fake news media.”

The inappropriate clothing choice has sparked outrage and inspired other statement clothing, and is at odds with the first lady’s insistence that she “hates to see children separated from their families.”

A second visit could give her the opportunity to bounce back from the backlash surrounding her last trip — provided, of course, that a lot more consideration goes into her wardrobe this time around.
