McDonald's Launching New Sauce That You'll Want to Put on Everything

McDonald's menus are about to get a whole lot tastier.

The beloved fast food chain is gearing up to add another tasty concoction into its arsenal of flavorful dipping sauces, and McDonald's customers will want to put this new savory condiment on everything.

McDonald's announced this week that it will soon be unveiling the Savory Chili "WcDonald's" Sauce, a brand new flavorful dip that not only packs a punch, but also serves up special nod to anime fans.

The new sauce blends a "unique combination of ginger, garlic and soy with a slight heat from chili flakes packs an energetic blast of flavor in every bite," says the brand, while perfectly mimicking the "dynamic spirit of your favorite anime heroes."

Pair the sauce with the 10-piece "WcNuggets" (McDonald's fan-favorite Chicken McNuggets) or on the side of any of your go-to menu items, when it becomes available on Feb. 26, in more than 30 markets around the globe.

But the mouth-watering new dipping sauce isn't the only facet part of McDonald's new anime-themed launch, as fans will be able to delve deeper into the world of WcDonald's, the chain restaurant's fictional counterpart, with every meal.

WcDonald's will become an epic, real-life experience with the new sauce encased in limited-edition manga-inspired packaging, custom designed by iconic Japanese manga artist/illustrator Acky Bright. Plus, McDonald's is also collaborating with studio pierrot to produce the first official WcDonald's anime, consisting of four episodic shorts, to go along with the launch.

"Anime is a huge part of today's culture, and we love that our fans have been inviting us into the conversation for years," said Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald's USA. "The WcDonald's universe is a reflection of what fans have created. It honors their vision and celebrates their creativity, while authentically bringing it to life in our restaurants for the first time ever."

Every Monday, from Feb. 26 until March 18, a new short will drop in tandem with new manga on WcDonalds.com, or by scanning the code on the WcDonald's bag. The shorts will honor four of anime's biggest subgenres—Action, Romance, Mecha and Fantasy.
