Mason Ho Gets Deep About His Favorite Waves and Surfing Pipeline on BurgerTV

Mason Ho—son of Michael, nephew of the late Pipeline legend Derek, and brother of Coco—is one of the most fun North Shore surfers to watch. He gets huge barrels, does airs, and is an all-around fun personality in surfing.

Ho's been all over the world lately shredding France, getting barreled in Indo, surfing the Maldives with the fam, and dodging rocks at home on the North Shore.

Get Ho out of the water and put him in front of a camera with his lifelong buddy and fellow North Shore boy, Keoni "Burger" Nozaki, and you get some entertaining and freakin' funny conversation.

In the latest vlog above from BurgerTV and Blak Bear Surf Club, the old friends (word on the street is that Mason's mom gave Burger his nickname) are hanging out talking about all kinds of stuff, aka "talking story," at home on the North Shore.

First off, they cover Blak Bear's Slab of the Season contest, where "anyone" (Ho makes a point to practice equity and inclusion), can win $10,000 by scoring the wave of the winter, aka the slab of the season.

Burger says the rules are simple:

"Whoever gets the best wave gets 10Gs."

Any takers?

From there, the Pipe talk continues.

Ho remembers some of his best waves, talks about his favorite kind of waves (the big, big, big, big ones), and recaps the time the WSL scolded him for claiming a wave.

"If you're out at Pipeline, I like the biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest wave that could possibly hit that reef. That's the one I like," Ho says.
