Martha Stewart's Super-Simple Tip Will Give You the Fluffiest Baked Potato Ever

There aren't too many things that Martha Stewart can't do. She's a master gardenerswimsuit cover model, and one of the best cooks we've seen in a while. In short, she's a true trendsetter and master entrepreneur. Which is exactly why when she opened up her first restaurant, The Bedford, fans from all over flocked to Las Vegas to get a peek at what the icon was serving up. One of the main items that caught everyone's eye (and took over their tastebuds)? The smashed potato.

While traveling to Las Vegas just to get a taste of the popular menu item may not be possible for everyone, Martha — being the amazing domestic diva that she is — has made it much easier for us to all enjoy the dish right from our homes.

Taking to her TikTok account on Thursday, August 10, the multi-hyphenate showed viewers just how easy it is to make the dish. And honestly, the smashing part looks kind of fun. "Take a slit down the middle of a baked Idaho potato, put it in a cloth like this — it's boiling hot — and smash it on the table," she said.

But why the smashing you ask? According to Martha, it's actually the step you need to get the potato to be its fluffiest. "That smashing breaks up all the fibers, and makes the potato a delightful, fluffy creation." She then topped it with crème fraîche (a thick cream that's similar to sour cream) and black caviar before ending the video.

Personally, I love when I find a way to make my favorite restaurant dish at home, and thanks to Martha, I didn't even have to book a flight to Vegas to try it first. But if you're like me and still feel like you need the full experience (and to try all of the other amazing items that are on the menu), The Bedford is always just a hop, skip and a flight away.
