It seems highly unlikely at this point that a fight between Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the platform formerly known as Twitter's new owner Elon Musk will ever take place, Roman Colosseum or not. But Zuckerberg's apparent bloodlust having gone unsatiated, the 39-year-old is still reportedly hoping to get into the UFC ring soon.

According to TMZ, Dana White is apparently "more than insinuating" that a fight could still happen. And while it may not be with a seasoned UFC fighter, White has a roster of 500 amateur fighters who would evidently love the attention.

"I have said since day one Mark is a very serious guy," the 54-year-old president told the outlet. "He loves the sport and is training hard. I believe he is serious about fighting in the UFC." TMZ likewise notes that White's verbiage "in the UFC" suggests that Zuck would be fighting someone inside the organization.

White's comments echo what Zuckerberg himself has expressed on his newly-minted platform Threads since it seemingly became clear that Musk was backing out.

"Not holding my breath for Elon, but I'll share details on my next fight when I'm ready," Zuckerberg wrote last week. "When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card."

On Sunday, he added that in the meantime, he was planning to "focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously," followed by a photo of himself fighting in his "backyard octagon."

How Zuckerberg will do against a real UFC fighter remains to be seen. But maybe we can't count him out, based on his medal-winning performance at his first jiu-jitsu tournament earlier this year. Though, mixed martial arts are a different beast entirely.
