Man in Russia Rides Horse Up to His 5th Floor Apartment to Impress His Wife

No one likes having a fight with their partner, and after a fight it's usually a good idea to make some sort of gesture of an apology. Flowers. Maybe a nice box of candy. Tickets to a concert. A home cooked meal.

Or you could do what this man in Russia’s Kemerovo region did which is that he rode a horse into an apartment building at 3 a.m. and presented it to his wife to make amends after a fight.

According to The Daily Beast, local media identifies the man as 33-year-old Sergei Antipov and reports he took the horse from a farm where he used to work, hoping to show up as “Prince Charming” and make up with his wife. She subsequently recorded the confused-looking horse, which she quipped was a gift for International Women’s Day on March 8, inside their tiny apartment. “Here’s a horse standing in my house,” she said. Thankfully, the horse is now said to be back at its farm.

The reports also states that the horse, um, to put it delicately, left some souvenirs in the apartment building's entryway. That poor horse was probably terrified!

Can You Get a DUI Riding a Horse While Inebriated?

For those of you wondering, and we know you are, about what would happen if you decided to have one too many martinis and get your own horse to make a romantic gesture like this and the police pulled you over, can you get a DUI whilst riding a horse?

Luckily, KDVR.com has the answer! A “vehicle,” at least as far as the state law is concerned, must be capable of moving itself or being moved using wheels or endless tracks.

This, of course, doesn’t include horses and other animals that people ride.

And since the law only applies to vehicles — motorized or otherwise — riding horseback while under the influence doesn’t count.

Now, this law applies in Colorado so before you pull a stunt like this in Minnesota you should check your own local laws and regulations.

Or after a fight you would do what most people do, and ya know, apologize without a horse involved.

Thankfully, the horse in the above story is back on the farm where he belongs but we have no idea if the above celebratory Romeo ever got his woman back. We hope he at least cleaned up the entryway of the building. And maybe next time just gets the name and number of a local florist.
